Thousands of Sri Lankans secured construction jobs in Israel in 2025

Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Governments of Sri Lanka and Israel, 3,575 Sri Lankans have secured employment in Israel’s construction sector during 2025.

Recently, 77 job seekers were officially dispatched to Israel, with a ceremony for the presentation of their air tickets held at the Sri Lankan Bureau Auditorium under the patronage of Bureau Chairman Kosala Wickramasinghe on November 18.

In addition, 152 workers are preparing to depart for construction jobs in Israel later in November, while another 464 are scheduled to leave during the first week of December.

This year, 252 Sri Lankans have already been sent for employment in the infrastructure sub-sector of construction, with 34 more preparing to depart.

The Bureau highlighted its ongoing efforts to send skilled workers abroad for high-paying professional roles, noting a growing trend of Sri Lankans seeking opportunities beyond traditional markets, including Europe and East Asia, with Israel emerging as a particularly attractive destination.
