Sugeeshwara Bandara remanded until July 1



Colombo, June 18 (Daily Mirror) - The leader of the New People's Front, Sugeeshwara Bandara, who was arrested by the Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) this morning, was remanded until July 1 by the Fort Magistrate's Court.

Police said Bandara was taken into custody in connection with an ongoing investigation into allegations that he received salaries from two separate government institutions.

The arrest follows investigations into suspected irregularities involving dual salary payments, authorities said.

Further investigations are underway.
