Colombo, April 20 (Daily Mirror) - A new student-led volunteer initiative aimed at strengthening community engagement and social responsibility has been launched at the University of Jaffna.
The SAVE Volunteers – University of Jaffna Chapter held its inaugural meetup, bringing together undergraduates to introduce the group’s miacssion of service and compassion while encouraging greater youth participation in volunteer activities.
Organised by Save a Life, the event focused on building a network of socially conscious students committed to contributing to community development through awareness programmes and service-oriented projects.
Organisers said the newly established chapter will provide a platform for students to actively engage in meaningful initiatives, while also fostering leadership and teamwork among youth.
They noted that the launch marks an important step toward expanding volunteerism within universities and promoting a culture of civic responsibility among young people.
