Quantity doesn't mean anything as 90% of them spend peanuts fraction of what they have to spend in their own country's. Tourism is not a charity free food free lodging food for pennies (US money) If Sri Lanka wants to benefit from Tourism set different prices for them in every sector including the street food not only the attractions like Sigiriya rock, Lotus tower etc. Create a computerized system like China including street vendors pay by scan a QR code government taxes 10% or higher ammount based on the business rest of the funds directly goes into the individual businesses account however still taxable based on fiscal year income tax return. If Sri Lanka don't follow these basic rules Tourism only will become a liability not an asset as millions of foreigners consume limited resources available to the locals much of them are very expensive imports like fuel and imported food items drinking water etc. Do Tourism smarter not Dollar foolish penny wise ways stop giving them free.

US tourists, as in real ones, not those with former Sri Lankan roots, will drop drastically in the coming months. USA is ramping up the pressure domestically to prevent US citizens going to countries with high trade barriers to US goods. All is fair during a trade war.
