The Sri Lanka cricket team under the leadership of Dasun Shanaka, bid farewell to their homeland as they embarked on their journey to India for the ODI World Cup tournament.

Prior to their departure, the team received religious blessings at Sri Lanka Cricket headquarters, setting the stage for their upcoming campaign.

I just read that in the recent G20 summit in India, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Truadu, on the advice of his intelligence, refused to say in the hotel room designated for him by India , and also refused to take part in the banquet where he would have been eating the food assigned to him by the Indians. In this context, I would want our cricket team to show utmost caution while in India

SL players must remember with the New technology and Artificial intelligence teams knows exactly what the opponents strengths and weaknesses when it's come to the batters and the bowlers!! The battle plan drawn before you enter the field!! As an professional cricketer you got to executive your game plan to perfection to your team requirement!! Lastly, the game is now only 10% Skill and 90% is using your Head, that's right!!

The biggest disappointment recently with SL team was not being able to beat India in the Asia Cup Super 4 game where SL failed to score 213 runs to win, absolutely NO excuse, period! I have no issues with SL getting bowled out for a measly 50 runs in the final, that day even 150 or 250 runs on the board didn't matter as India was mentally strong that day to win the final. Even the 2nd ODI against Aussies couple of days ago India scored 399 runs. India possess a batting Juggernaut and when you restrict India to 213 runs in an ODI, SL must win, players must apply professional approach!!

Cardinal principle be patient Batters and ensure that you do not put your bat for every ball when there are two or three slips behind because this is an intimidatory tactic to see you return to the pavilion. Also do not be in a hurry to hit fours and sixes go with small mercies with ones and two's and definitely we could see a better result unlike the Asian Cup 2023

Unless you change The way SLC operates and change players attitude and mindset winning is the utmost priority. Change the whole structure of SL premiere division by reducing number of teams to Less than 8. Make drastic changes to school cricket by making mandatory that schools should play Less than 13 Games per season. Remember, school cricket is the cradle of SL cricket. Present context SL NOT GONNA make any World Cup Champions wether ODI or T20. It's just a pipedream yeah.
