Sri Lanka conveys condolences over school shooting in Canada

Sri Lanka extended heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the mass shooting in a remote British Columbia town that left nine people dead and wished speedy recovery to those who were injured.

In a message posted on ‘X’ on behalf of the Government and people of Sri Lanka, Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath said Sri Lanka stands in solidarity with all those affected by the tragedy, adding that thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and the wider community during this profoundly difficult time. 

He said Sri Lanka also expressed hope that those impacted by the incident will find strength, comfort, and peace as they come to terms with their loss.
