Siridhamma Thera granted bail after 89 days detention

Ven. Galwewa Siridhamma Thera who was detained under Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) for 89 days was today ordered to be released on bail by Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court.

Colombo Additional Magistrate T. N. L. Mahawatta made this following the Attorney General's advice to release him on bail. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

We heed to thank the International community, specially the UNHRC and the IMF. It was their intervention that this stupid government had to bend under pressure. This government with not get a US Cent from the IMF and other lending institutions until a fresh mandate is obtained from the people of Sri Lanka. A 134 mandate is sufficient to get a ride to Angoda. Cheers!
