Ship freighting MOP fertilizer reachs Colombo port tonight



The ship carrying 41,876 metric tons of Miuriate of Potash (MOP) Fertilizer, an essential source of manure for paddy cultivation is scheduled to arrive at the port of Colombo tonight (3).

The Commercial Fertilizer Company Chairman Dr. Jagath Perera said following an inquiry made by the Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera, that arrangements have been made to unload the cargo by tomorrow (3) afternoon.

The official taking over of this batch of MOP fertilizer will be done at Colombo port on December 5 at 2.00 pm with the participation of the Minister and other officials. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
