School principal netted when trying to solicit Rs.30,000 bribe

Colombo, May 25 (Daily Mirror)- The Bribery Commission apprehended a school principal in the Eheliyagoda area for trying to solicit a bribe of Rs.30,000 from a lady to offer the tender to supply food for the school canteen uninterrupted.

The sleuths of the Bribery Commission netted the principal in his office room. It is learnt that the suspect has demanded Rs.50,000 as a bribe to recommend the release of payment for this lady for the supply of food for the months of March and April. Initially, he secured Rs.20,000 of this bribe.

She made a complaint when she was asked to pay Rs.30,000, and the suspect was arrested accordingly
