STF arrest suspect with over 3kgs Ice drugs

A 28 year old suspect has been arrested by the Police Special Task Force while in possession of 03kgs & 394 gms of Ice narcotic drug during a raid at Uyilankulam in Mannar.

The STF said the suspect, a residentof Mannar was handed over to the Mannar Police for further investigations.

We hear of frequent arrests of individuals in possession of different Drugs. It looks as if the authorities are content with some addicts on the streets being caught with drugs every now and again and giving publicity to them ? Why is that no concerted action is taken to investigate how the Drugs enter the country, who the Drug King Pins are, and more importantly the local Politicians and Officials behind the Operations ?
