SC judge recuses from hearing Bathiudeen’s FR petition

Supreme Court Judge Priyantha Jayawardena today recused himself from hearing the Fundamental Rights petition filed by former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen.

Mr. Bathiudeen had filed a Fundamental Rights petition seeking an interim order preventing CID from arresting him over Easter Sunday attack.

Accordingly, Supreme Court three-judge-bench comprising Justice Priyantha Jayawardena, L.T.B. Dehideniya and Justice Yasantha Kodagoda fixed the petition for support on August 7.
