Colombo, June 3 (Daily Mirror) - A sum of Rs. 35 million prepared for replenishing ATM machines was robbed from the Horana branch of People's Bank by an unidentified individual this afternoon, police said.
The incident occurred at around 2.55 p.m. when a bank employee was carrying two bags containing cash out of the bank's rear exit for transportation.
According to police, an individual approached the employee, forcibly snatched the two money bags and fled the scene.
The suspect has not yet been identified, and no further details have been released regarding the robbery.
Horana Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are conducting inquiries to trace the suspect and recover the stolen money.
