Colombo, Feb. 3 (Daily Mirror) - Attorney-at-Law Rajeev Amarasuriya has been re-elected uncontested for a further term as President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) for the 2026/2027 period.
He is scheduled to be formally inducted at the 52nd Convocation of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, which will be held on March 28, 2026.
Meanwhile, Attorney-at-Law Nalin Chandika De Silva, former Treasurer of the BASL, has also been elected uncontested as the Secretary of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka for the 2026/2027 term. He will succeed the incumbent Secretary, Attorney-at-Law Chathura Galhena, who completes his two-year term at the Association’s 2026 Convocation.
The results of the BASL office-bearers’ election were officially declared by the Returning Officer, Solicitor General Viraj Dayaratne, PC.
