President Ranil Wickremesinghe issued orders to the Chairmen of Sri Lankan Airlines and Ceylon Petroleum Corporation calling for a report on payment of bonuses at a time when both institutions were running at a loss.

You sure don't know how to win elections! What you should be doing is not cutting bonuses, but give away free rations , houses, school buses, low cost fuel, free university - etc. Etc. Now we will vote for the Armegedons because they will promise all these! Oh, by the way there is also a lot who seek to run the country promising that everyone will be made equal! We are not going to vote for them. They have about 3-5% who will vote for them.

The staff is not responsible for the losses. Do not pay bonuses to the corrupt management. Rather get explanation and make them accountable

It is unthinkable what is happening in SL. Have these people got an iota of brain or any sense at all? The explanations should have come a long time ago. The bigger question is why there has been no action against the politician who put the airline into this position in the first place. This airline was running at a profit, but this person put his cronies into it and it became a white elephant. It is about time this airline is handed over to Singapore Airlines to run. Just watch how they will run this airline. In fact, just hand over the whole country to Singapore and see how they will transform SL next to no time. SL politicians, public servants and union thugs are no match to their counter parts in Singapore or any other developed country.

Staff so used to receive bonusses. No bonus they strike and more losses. What must happen is proper directions be given to all State and State sponsored institutions. As a start stop the politicians pension after 5 years that they receive as a bonus and make it 20 years

Everybody in Lanka think that they are an isolated Island without any thought of the rest of the population! They have their own followers, loyal care takers and goons based on caste and creed. Rules and regulation, Establishment Code and Audit requirements are violated. Rest of the country can go to dog. This mentality of Rajapassa God Father will not go away easily. It will take several generation to wean out this island mentality. Anyway good luck to any person who try to change.

Please deduct the bonus payment paid to the employees from their salaries and sack the chairpersons and the heads of the institutions. What an irresponsible action in a country where the poor are unable to feed their children even with two meals.

IF SRI LANKAN IS NOT MAKING PROFITS CLOSE DOWN THE AIRLINE. THE MANAGEMENT FEEL THEY ARE DOING THEIR BEST AND DESERVE A BONUS. THE GOVT IS KEEPING SRI LANKAN AIRLINES TO KEEP SOME PRESTIGE. THE STAFF SHOULD SHARE THE PRESTIGE. IF NOT CLOSE DOWN THE DAMN AIRLINE WITHOUT TAKING STAFF TO FAULT

Devolop world provide bonuses for employees who deliver results and company growth etc...It's away of thanking those staff for the hard work efficiently accountability responsibility and profitability that is a system that create bonuses dividends etc.on profit base only in sri lanka pay bonuses for lairbilties proper macanisam should be introduced to congratulate and thank staff for the hard work and archivements not just hand outs......
