Galle, May 15 (Daily Mirror) - The Galle Police has launched an investigation following a complaint alleging that a Jailor at the Galle Prison engaged a female inmate to assassinate a fellow female warden within the prison premises.

It was reported that a team of police officers visited the Galle prison to record statements from several individuals, including the accused jailor and the targeted warden.

According to the complaint filed by the warden, the jailor had given a contract to a female inmate, who is serving time for multiple offenses, to carry out the sinister act within the confines of the Galle prison.

Meanwhile, the Prisons Department has also launched an inquiry into the matter.
