Police probe video recording of Weligama shooting suspect’s arrest
Colombo, Oct. 28 (Daily Mirror) - The Special Investigation Unit has launched an investigatigation into the police officers who were involved in video recording the suspect who was arrested over the Weligama Pradeshiya Sabah Chairman's shooting, Police Spoeksman F.U. Wootler said.
He told a news conference that the close attention of the Inspector General of Police has been drawn to the matter and said that the incident cannot be approved as it is harmful to the victim and the future judical procedures.
He said the investigations will find out whether the video recording was done by a third party or with the consent of the police officers.
