PCoI on SriLankan airlines - I resigned due to pressure: Ex-air hostess



SriLankan airlines former senior air hostess, Yasantha Naomi Alwis informed the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) on irregularities at SriLankan that she had to resign from the permanent staff in 2012 because of the pressure imposed by the company's Human Resources Division over her pregnancy.

She informed the PCoI that she had made several complaints regarding the matter but then HR Manager Pradeep Kekulawala had informed her to resign from her position without wasting his time.

“I submitted my resignation on April 16, 2012 because of the pressure imposed by the HR division and the then HR Manager Pradeep Kekulawala,” Ms. Alwis said.

She said it came to a situation where some female employees deciding on carrying out abortions because they were being pressured by the HR Division.(Yoshitha Perera)
