No threat to SL following South Sumatra earthquake



The National Tsunami Early Warning Centre stated that there is no tsunami threat to Sri Lanka as a result of the 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck  south of Sumatra.

They said the coastal areas of Sri Lanka have been declared safe. 

The earthquake occurred at 2.39 am today, 33 km below the earth's surface. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
