New low pressure system may affect Northern Sri Lanka

Colombo, Nov. 18 (Daily Mirror) - The Department of Meteorology has said that the current low pressure area over Sri Lanka is moving away, and its impact on the weather is gradually reducing.

However, a new low pressure area is expected to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal around 22nd November.

According to the department, this system could strengthen and move near the Northern coast of Sri Lanka.

As such, residents, especially those in the Northern and Eastern provinces, as well as fishing and naval communities, are advised to stay updated with weather forecasts and bulletins issued by the Meteorology Department.
