First of all they must have the basic education and some sort of social status. These days most of the thugs and illicit businessmen come to politics. Very really you get a educated person. Most of the so called educated person's are lawyers since this is the easiest higher education you can get externally with Sinhala or Tamil medium. Beyond that Mahinder's rule for more than 15 years made all of them corrupt and all the ethics had been lost. This is the date of the country.
