Navin Dissanayake appointed as Governor of Sabaragamuwa Province

President Ranil Wickremesinghe appointed former Minister Navin Dissanayake as the Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province today.

Mr. Dissanayake is the fourth new Governor to be appointed by the incumbent President.

He appointed Lakshman Yapa Abeywardana as the Governor of the North-Western Province, P.S.M. Charles as the Governor of the Northern Province and Senthil Thondaman as the Governor of the Eastern Province last month.

Several more UNPers are expected to be appointed as Governors shortly.(Yohan Perera)
