NIE’s Deputy Director General sent on compulsory leave over module controversy

Colombo, Jan. 19 (Daily Mirror) - Deputy Director General of the National Institute of Education (NIE) Darshana Samaraweera has been sent on compulsory leave over the Grade 6 English module controversy.

Two more officials of the NIE have also been interdicted over the matter.

An investigation was launched by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) over the incident while a separate internal investigation was also conducted by the NIE.

Minister also should resign. Legal action should be taken against the minister too. Law should be applied same like how it was for Keheliya for low quality medicine.

Oops, "Dr" Samaraweera, so-called, a champion author in predatory journals such as the International Journal of Latest Research in Humanities and Social Sciences and the International Journal of Current Innovations in Advanced Research. No need for any other evidence to understand why the Grade 6 English module, alongside so-called reforms, has fallen into such a low level. These people are white-collar criminals who pretend to be doctors and scholars, publishing their "work" in predatory journals. Unfortunately, this is the publication track record of many of the doctors and professors in the current government.
