Anuradhapura, Feb. 11 (Daily Mirror)- Claiming that opposition camps have been astonished by the NPP's Indian visit, NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said today that more surprising events are to be unfolded in the near future.
Speaking at the Anuradhapura District Women's Convention, he said an era had begun now, where more and more surprises would take place.
"How did you know about our Indian visit? You got to know it either through the Samagi Jana Balawegaya camp, President Ranil's camp or Mahinda Rajapaksa's camp. We were silent. They have been astonished to learn about our Indian visit. They thought that only they can deal with India in that manner. An era has begun where more and more such surprises will occur," he said.
Dissanayake said the opposition has also been astonished about this concept of women's convention, adding that they never thought an awakening of women would happen in this manner.
He said various alliances are in the offing against the NPP's victory where even the political opponents such as Mahinda-Chandrika, Maithripala- Mahinda and Ranil-Chandrika are set to come to the same stage.
"Sajith is not joining that camp because of his personal rivalry with Ranil. Otherwise, he would also have joined the same camp," he said.

Only one who was not apparently surprised by his indian visit was Ranil who may have arranged it with India. Here is what I think . Indians wants to control Sri Lanka, their strategy is to own strategic economic interests in Sri lanka. Ranil wants to sell assets but he is not prepared to give full control to Indians so Indians captured Anura. Another view is that Ranil wants to sell assets but Anura's party is opposing it. So Indians try to stop Anura by giving him an elevated status. But those who think that Anura will change the country are in for great surprises. (Alponso Safasis).

Every man I meet in the road is determined to change the existing system which lasted for 76 years. They are not JVP ers they all have voted for the two parties which governed this country, now fed up disillusioned and want to vote for NPP and give them power to run the country.

@lion - this is the problem with Sri Lankans—the lack of basic understanding of Economic theory. Changing parties is not the panacea for economic woes. The fundamental questions in any economy, i.e., what to produce, how to produce, how much to produce, and who should produce them and consume, can't be solved through a centrally planned system. This is not to say that market-based solutions are optimal, but they are the best out of the bad. The current president is moving in the right direction. We must give him some time to show results.

Look at any political platform other than NPP all most all the speakers lambaste NPP ,mostly commenting on things happened 34 years ago.They hardly speak of how they intend to rebuild the country. Take AKD he hardly speak of other parties if it is about Sajith it consit of few lines taking around one minute. These are the qualities of AKD which attracted to the ordinary man in the street.Today out of all the speakers of the political platform AKD stand tall against any one.

People are fed up with the corrupt politics of UNP,SLFP,POTUWA and even SJB. All these parties to come into power stoop down to very low levels. Create animosity among communities and rift. Innocent public doesn't want such, hence, many have changed their minds to elect JVP. Corrupt free, wastage free,clean rulership is the best way to get out of the current situation.

They travel abroad and make comments about How things should be done in Srilanka. Srilanka is blessed with so much natural resources and have so much potential. Just a small effort from its citizens. The entire political landscape in SL is monitored and controlled by India. They have their intelligence in SL and knows very well who is gonna be the next President of SL. In order to maintain their dominance, India has to get the next president in their good books. This is just the start of the new chapter and the same old dirty tricks of India. BTW, India is more dangerous than China because of the same mindset as SL gothrikayas. So, we wait and watch another turmoil in the making.
