An opportunity has been announced for both men and women to receive temporary ordination for the entire month of Esala at a renowned Theravada Buddhist temple in Thailand, Venerable Avissawella Dhammananda Thera said.
Speaking from the temple in Bangkok, the Thera said participants will be able to spend a full month engaged in meditation, religious observances, and a disciplined life of Dhamma, in a calm and scenic environment.
This will be the 10th group organised by Venerable Dhammananda Thera for temporary ordination. The group is scheduled to travel to Thailand at the end of June, with the programme running throughout Esala month, from late June to late July.
Participants will be required to bear only the cost of airfare. According to the Thera, robes, accommodation, meals, and all religious activities during the one-month stay will be provided free of charge. He described the programme as a rare, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience monastic life in the Theravada tradition.
Those interested in joining the limited number of participants are requested to contact Venerable Avissawella Dhammananda Thera or the Heritage Lanka organisation via the provided WhatsApp numbers or email addresses.
