Man arrested with nearly 2 kgs of heroin in Panadura

Colombo, May 26 (Daily Mirror)- A 37-year-old man was arrested with 1.850 kilograms of heroin at Walapana in the Panadura South police division this evening.

The raid was carried out by the Kalutara Crimes Division on information received by them. A mobile phone was also taken into police custody.

The suspect is a resident of Walapana, Panadura.

Kalutara Police are conducting further investigations.

Sri Lanka is an Island nation. We don't produce nor do we grow any of these drugs other than Ganja which is grown by some individuals. But how come our nation is virtually floating in these drugs? Everyday there is news about detection of these drugs, worth several millions.
