Colombo, March 27 (Daily Mirror) - A mainly dry weather forecast for March 27 has raised concerns about low rainfall in many parts of the country.
The Meteorology Department said that showers or thundershowers may occur only in a few places in the Sabaragamuwa Province and in the districts of Galle, Matara, Kalutara and Nuwara Eliya during the evening or night. Most other areas are expected to remain dry.
This situation has drawn attention as people continue to discuss changing weather patterns and their impact on water supply and farming, especially in areas that already face irregular rainfall.
Misty conditions are also expected in parts of the Central Province, Sabaragamuwa Province, North Central Province and Uva Province, as well as in Kurunegala, Vavuniya, Galle and Matara during the early morning.
Authorities have also warned that strong winds and lightning may occur in some areas during thundershowers and advised the public to take necessary precautions.
Experts say that if dry weather continues with only a few showers, it could create problems in the future and highlight the need for better planning.
