Colombo, May 14 (Daily Mirror) - The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) today issued early warnings for landslides in Badulla, Galle, Ratnapura and Kegalle districts.

Those in these areas are to be watchful for sudden appearance of water sprouts, cracks on walls and on the soil as these may be signs of impending landslides.

According to the Department of Meteorology, heavy rains of about 100 mm may occur in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Eastern Provinces.

The department has mentioned this while issuing a weather statement for the next 36 hours.

Also, it states that the turbulent nature developing in the lower atmosphere near Sri Lanka is expected to lead to rainy conditions over the island in the future.
