LAUGFS gas confirms continued LPG supply amid temporary distribution constraints

Colombo, Feb. 23 (Daily Mirror) - LAUGFS Gas PLC has assured the public that uninterrupted supply of its branded LPG cylinders will be maintained despite temporary market constraints.

The company cited operational limitations at its 30,000-metric-ton LPG import terminal in Hambantota as the reason for the brief supply disruption, which affected regular import logistics.

In response, LAUGFS Gas is coordinating with government authorities to expedite the terminal’s operational clearance. Meanwhile, alternative arrangements have been made with international suppliers to reroute shipments directly to Colombo Port, ensuring domestic demand is met.

The company highlighted that stock levels have been secured and distribution mechanisms adjusted, assuring households and businesses that necessary measures are in place to maintain consistent LPG availability.

If you can't handle the business properly, sell it to someone who can. If the current owners are unwilling to run it smoothly, the government should force them to give it up without being disruptive.
