Former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella who was arrested over the import of substandard Immunoglobulin injections, was further remanded until June 28 by the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court.

The former Health Minister was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on February 24, 2024

As there is sufficient evidence of his involvement, he should be in remand throughout the case, and the toughest sentence should be meted out to him if proved guilty. A life long sentence in jail may be required.In Arab countries, there will be a death sentence.

Also, need to ensure his health conditions are properly examined to see if he's fit enough to stay in remand custody rather than in prison hospital. This is a crime which needs to be punished by law.
