Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said it was improper for anyone to ask him to step down for the formation of an interim government.
The Prime Minister told Daily Mirror that he would be the head of such an interim government in Parliament.
“I am ready to be the prime minister of an interim government. It is improper to ask me to step down ,” he said .
He sad this in the wake of former Minister Dallus Alahapperuma asking for the entire Cabinet including the Prime Minister to resign for the formation of an interim government representative of all the parties for one year to address the current issues .( Kelum Bandara)
