Ven. Muruththettuwe Ananda Thera said that former JVP provincial councillor Wasantha Samarasinghe had made false claims alleging that he had links with Thilini Priyamali.

"I don’t know Thilini but my jeep was taken by a female municipal councillor of Colombo Municipal Council. I was cheated by this CMC councillor. The Colombo Crimes Division is conducting an investigation in this regard," the Thera said.

How do monks who are supposed to live a life of poverty and pious be able to afford a Jeep, running and maintenance costs. Maybe it is Buddhism monkhood with a Sri Lankan flavour where you can do everything except public cohabitation

This honorable Poojaneeya, Vandneeya Thro, started as leader of Nurses Union in Colombo, way back in 1960s, under Dudley Senanayake period. That was 6 decades ago. He is sill active under Gota in his declining age is great news . But a Jeep cannot be taken by a female, unless it was sold or gifted and re-gifted. It is fair business deal. So, what is there to complain.
