Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa addressing a gathering of students in Maharagama said that he came last in the class when he was reading for his Ordinary Level exams in England.

"I was successful here, but I came last in my class in England. Language labs helped me improve my English literacy.

I watched news every night as my father advised. Improving English literacy will help us to conquer the world of information technology" he said.

The first four comments are from a guy who only studied up to A/L but then did dirty job for the Indian Army against his own Tamil people , Indians have him a job at a Indian paper . It takes courage to admit a failure or a minus point. Don't judge or criticise him on this. It's a motivational point. People should know he has a good vocabulary in English one of the best English speaking politicians. It is not correct to analyse him on his being last. We all know he was not able to go to school in SL continuously during the time of war.

Shocking how many of the comments fail to see the moral behind Sajith's admission that his Sri Lankan English education was woefully inadequate when he went to England. That has not changed even today. Recently just 4 out of several hundred nurses barely passed their English proficiency test to work abroad.

Very down to earth by openly saying that he came last in the class. Sometimes different personalities brag about their positions even some of our politicians donning the "GOWN" worn by Lawyers who do not have the basic qualifications as their fathers have been instrumental in influencing professionals who matter to see that their sons pass under the Chair. Also I see many adverse comments about different faiths and personalities which are not professional but done by scavengers.
