The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) said that the heavy showers being experienced around the country would enhance the hydro capacity to generate more power.

According to the Meteorology Department, the country is currently receiving heavy showers of more than 100 mm in the Northern, North-central, North-western, Eastern, Uva, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
