Gunmen kills woman in Matugama: Husband survives
A 38-year old woman was shot dead when two unidentified gunmen opened fire at a house in Matugama last night.
Investigations revealed that the suspects had come to kill the woman's husband. Although he was at home at the time of the shooting, but survived.
The police recovered six T-56 assault firearm shells from the scene.
The motive for the murder has not been disclosed and the Matugama Police are conducting further investigations to arrest the suspects.
Magistrate of Matugama conducted the preliminary magisterial inquiry and the woman's body is lying at the Nagoda Hospital.
