Gold prices surge in Sri Lanka



Colombo, June 15 (Daily Mirror) - Gold prices in Sri Lanka have risen sharply following a significant increase in global gold rates, which have climbed to around USD 4,325 in international markets.

As a result, local gold prices have increased by approximately Rs. 6,000 compared to rates recorded at 9.00 a.m. today (15), traders said.

In the Colombo Sea Street gold market, the price of a 22-carat gold sovereign was recorded at Rs. 360,600 this morning.

Meanwhile, the price of a 24-carat gold sovereign, which stood at Rs. 386,000 on Saturday (June 13), has risen to Rs. 392,000 today, reflecting the upward trend in global bullion prices.
