Gazette issued making public services essential
An extraordinary gazette notification (2313/25) has been issued considering the necessity of the services provided by any Public Corporation or Government institution as essential public services.
Accordingly, supply of electricity, distribution of petroleum products and fuel, all service, work or labour, of any description whatsoever, necessary or required to be done in connection with the maintenance, and the reception, care giving, and treatment, of patients in hospitals, nursing homes, dispensaries, and other similar institution.
The gazette notification was issued by President's Secretary E. M. S. B. Ekanayake. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
