Colombo, October 25. (Daily Mirror) - The Lanka Premier League (LPL) has appointed West Indies cricket icon Chris Gayle as the Brand Ambassador for its upcoming sixth season, scheduled for 2026.

After the cancellation of the 2025 edition, tournament organizers say Season 6 will mark a major resurgence, with the “Universe Boss” set to play a starring promotional role as the league re-enters the global cricket spotlight.

Launched in 2020, the LPL has grown into Sri Lanka’s premier T20 franchise competition, showcasing international star power alongside emerging local cricketers. Officials expect Gayle’s larger-than-life presence to amplify international attention and fan engagement ahead of its much-awaited return.

While the exact match schedule is yet to be announced, preparations are underway to deliver the LPL’s biggest season to date.
