Colombo, April 11 (Daily Mirror) - The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) announced that its 48-hour token strike concluded at 8.00 a.m. today (11), restoring normal hospital services across the country.
Speaking on the media, GMOA Media Spokesperson Dr. Chamil Wijesinghe said that all government hospitals have resumed regular operations following the conclusion of the strike.
He further said that the association’s next course of action will be determined at an upcoming executive committee meeting.
“We announced that the strike would end at 8 a.m. today. Accordingly, normal operations are now underway across the hospital system. We expect to inform the country of our future decisions after the New Year. At present, this issue has also been taken before the courts,” he said.
