A student from Mahamaya Girl's College, Kandy has topped the island rankings at the GCE Ordinary Level Examination in 2023, while the second place has been achieved by a student from Vembadi Girls’ High School in Jaffna, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said.
He told parliament that a student from Royal College, Colombo had obtained third place.
Two fourth-placed students from Royal College, Colombo and another from Holy Cross College, Gampaha have achieved the feat.
He said 13,588 students have obtained A passes for all nine subjects.
Don't glorify these students and results. Their schools have nothing to do with it. SL kids go to tuition classes from grade 1 and tuition masters rule their world charging whatever they want. How do the poor kids compete with them?
