Five arrested in Pulmuddai over alleged Rs. 20 Mn ancient rock deal



Colombo, June 16 (Daily Mirror) - Five suspects who were allegedly preparing to sell a rock believed to be of ancient value for Rs. 20 million were arrested by Pulmuddai Police during a raid conducted in Pulmuddai.

The suspects, aged between 29 and 57, are residents of Puliyankulam, Eechchalanpattu and Trincomalee.

Police said the raid was carried out following a tip-off received by officers of the Pulmuddai Police Station.

However, the rock, believed to be of archaeological significance, was taken into police custody for further examination.
