Fifth national oral health survey to begin on March 10

Colombo, March 5 (Daily Mirror) - The Fifth National Oral Health Survey will commence on March 10, aimed at assessing the oral health status of people across the country.

The survey will be conducted in line with recommendations by the World Health Organization, which advises countries to carry out a national oral health survey at least once every 10 years to better understand oral health conditions among different population groups.

Accordingly, data collection will take place from March through November 2026, covering school students as well as adult age groups in every district across the island.

Health authorities said the survey will provide important data to guide national oral health policies, planning and preventive programmes in the future.

To ensure public awareness and cooperation for the success of the survey, a promotional discussion was organised by the Deputy Director General of Dental Services in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Mass Media of Sri Lanka Promotion and Publicity Division.
