Colombo, Nov. 13 (Daily Mirror) - A Fundamental Rights petition filed seeking an order directing authorities to conduct an investigation into the compensation payments made for damages caused to properties during the illegal attacks and violence carried out by groups of wrongdoers on May 9, 2022, was today fixed for January 28 by the Supreme Court.

When the matter was taken up before a three-judge bench of the Supreme Court comprising Justices Janak de Silva, Sobhitha Rajakaruna and Menaka Wijesundera, court was informed that several respondents had not yet received the notices.

Accordingly, the application was re-fixed for January 28 to ascertain the progress of serving notices on the respondents.

Attorney-at-Law Dr. Ravindranath Dabare filed this petition naming former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, former Defence Secretary, General (Rtd) Kamal Gunaratne, General (Rtd) Shavendra Silva, former Minister of Public Security Tiran Allas and several others as respondents.

If Notices cannot be served on the well known people named in this news item, I cannot see how Notices can be served on others. This is a gimmick to delay the hearing

These doctors don't care dam for this country only they need luxury living, comforts more than all the other professions. They think they are demigods in the society so they should be treated better than all the other profession of the society. They achieve their qualification using the tax payers money and once they are qualified they inconvenienced the same people by resorting to trade union action asking preferential treatment over other professions. when the members of this government sacrifice even what is due to them to get this country to a livable place ,these ungrateful doctors are resorting to strike , asking various facilities to put this country and the government to difficulties.
