A young elephant has been rescued from an uncovered drain in Sri Lanka's Hambantota port.
Locals workers joined forces with wildlife officials to use an array of basic tools to carry out the rescue operation.
The animal was taken away for treatment with a suspected broken leg. (BBC)

In this instance its an innocent baby elephant.The need is to punish the officials who kept the pit open.the DEPARTMENT HEAD THAT WAS RESPONSIBLE MUST BE TAKEN TO TASK.This is not a matter for MS RW or MR or his brood of cronies whom he piloted to shout for him.ANYWAY SINCE IT WAS AN ELEPHANT THE CRONIES WILL NOT SHOUT OR DASH COCONUTS
