Katunayaka, April 29 (Daily Mirror) - A group of monks, including Vietnamese nationals Pannakara and Ratanaguna, who visited Sri Lanka to take part in the “Ehipassiko – A Global Walk for Peace,” concluded their journey and departed the country this morning (29).
The group, accompanied by a dog “Aloka” and several lay participants, arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake in the early hours, where they were received at the special guests’ lounge.
Airport staff representing various departments gathered to offer prayers and pay their respects to the visiting monks. Special attention was also given to “Aloka,” with veterinarians, airport police, and Sri Lanka Air Force personnel overseeing the animal’s well-being prior to departure.
The delegation left the island at 7:12 a.m. on Turkish Airlines flight TK-731 bound for Istanbul, Turkey. They are scheduled to continue their journey onward to the United States on a connecting flight.
