Earthquake off the north-eastern coast: No tsunami threat: DMC

The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said there was no threat to Sri Lanka due to the 4.3 magnitude earthquake which struck 300 kilometers off the north-eastern coast last evening.

Accordingly, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 21 kilometers.

The DMC noted that there is no tsunami threat to the country. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
