EPF members to adjust appointments as Wednesdays declared public holidays

Colombo, March 17 (Daily Mirror) - Starting March 18, 2026, all Wednesdays will be considered as public holidays, a move that will affect services at the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) Divisions.

Members who have scheduled appointments on Wednesdays for services such as EPF benefits, 30% withdrawals, deceased member claims, and AH registrations are advised to reschedule within the next four working days, that is, Thursday, Friday, Monday, or Tuesday to avoid delays.

The Labour Department, under the Commissioner General, urged members to plan ahead and take note of the changes to ensure timely access to their benefits. Officials said the decision is part of broader efforts to optimise public service operations while accommodating the new holiday schedule.
