COLOMBO (Daily Mirror) - While rejecting the media reports, Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) said they do not unload fuel that does not meet the required standards.

While issuing a statement, they said that certain media reports circulating claimed that the CPSTL had unloaded a stock of fuel that did not comply with the required standards.

The CPSTL said that a stock of Octane 92 diesel and petrol arrived in the country on November 5, as ordered by the Lanka Indian Oil Corporation (LIOC).

Sample testing was done at the CPSTL laboratories before unloading the stocks. The Octane 92 petrol stocks were found to comply with the CPSTL standards, but checking the quality of the diesel stock is still underway. The decision to unload the stock of diesel will be taken after the laboratory report today.

The stock of diesel has not been unloaded still, and the reports circulating in the media are false, CPSTL added.
