Dehiwala Zoo earns Rs. 4.85 million during New Year days

Colombo, April 17 (Daily Mirror) - The Dehiwala Zoological Gardens collected a total of Rs. 4.85 million as revenue during April 13, 14 and 15, Zoological Gardens Assistant Director Dinushika Manawadu said.

She told the Daily Mirror that Rs. 1.35 million was collected on April 13, Rs. 1.65 million on April 14 and Rs. 1.85 million yesterday (April 15).

    The Dehiwela Zoo was inaugurated during the British colonial era in 1939. It is another money spinner for the government of Sri Lanka from the British like the tea plantations scenic railway and the nine arch bridge which are some of the most popular and lucrative tourist attractions in the country since . independence more than 75 years ago.
