Dayasiri, Marikkar brawl with Minister Vidyaratne

Colombo, Nov. 13 (Daily Mirror) - Opposition MPs S.M. Marikkar and Dayasiri Jayasekera engaged in a heated argument with Minister Samantha Vidyaratne in Parliament today over privilege issues. 

Minister Vidyaratne responded to a privilege issue raised by MP Marikkar initially. This was after the MP said the Minister has violated his privileges and his right of expression. 

The Minister said the MP's rights are violated by those in the SJB. Then, he accused MP Jayasekera of revealing inside information on the Constitutional Council. 

MP Jayasekera denied the accusation and said he only raised a privilege issue against one member of the Constitutional Council. 

"The Minister is talking nonsense," Jayasekera said.
