D.V. Chanaka cites Daily Mirror article in Parliament over drug shortage

Colombo, Oct. 10 (Daily Mirror) - The Daily Mirror article on drug shortage titiled "Bypass patient compelled to bring drugs worth over Rs. 100,000 from outside" was highlighted in Parliament by SLPP MP D.V. Chanaka today.

The MP told Parliament that as the Daily Mirror article has reported, there is an acute shortage of drugs and pharmaceutical items in many hospitals.

The MP said bypass patients are given a list of drugs and pharmaceutical items, even transparent dressing and sutures material to be bought from outside.
